Ms. Yvonne Mafunga has spent over 10 years in the USA in Houston, Texas where she completed her undergraduate degree in Computer Science and Mathematics at Texas Southern University and her graduate degree in Education at University of St. Thomas University in Texas. She also holds a Higher National Diploma in Computer Studies from The Kenya Polytechnic.
She has over 8 years of experience in the technology industry as a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) and Microsoft Certified Professional Trainer (MCT) in corporate America prior to being a public and private school educator for over 12 years. In 2010 she relocated back to Africa and joined the Aga Khan Education Services as Head of Technology for the Aga Khan High School and International Baccalaureate teacher for Diploma Programme, as well as ICT and Math teacher.
In September of 2012, she opened a school in Malindi and is also an independent education consultant in Africa, Europe and Middle East. She is currently the Chair of Malindi Residents Development Group.
Her vision for Malindi is to promote and protect the general interests of all residents of Malindi and ensure the betterment of all matters of development that span from Infrastructure, Environment, Health, Education , Social Amenities and Security to name but a few, that will encompass the well being of all residents in Malindi.College of Biological and Physical Sciences School of Biological Sciences
